Terms of use

These terms apply when you use BTLS on this website. By creating an account or using BTLS, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use BTLS.

Who we are

Market Leadership Systems International (MLS) owns and runs BTLS. You can reach us at support@thinkingstyles.biz.

What BTLS is

BTLS is a practical business tool. It describes how you prefer to think in general, at work and in what you need around you. It describes preferences, not ability, intelligence or personality. Scores are not percentages and do not compare you with other people.

BTLS results must not be the only reason for a decision about hiring, firing, promotion or pay. Use them to start better conversations about how people work together.

Your account

• Use your own details and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• Answer the questionnaire yourself. Your profile is only useful when the answers are yours.
• Tell us straight away at support@thinkingstyles.biz if you think someone else used your account.
• We may switch off an account that is misused, for example to attack the website or to read other people's results.

Joining through your employer

When you join with a company code or an invitation, your employer's BTLS administrators see your results and get your reports by email, because you agreed to share them when you signed up. Your employer decides how it uses BTLS inside the organisation and must follow these terms and the law. You can stop sharing at any time on your account page.

Paid reports

• Some reports, such as the Advanced report, cost money. We show the price before you pay.
• Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your full card number.
• People who already had a BTLS profile before the new website, and members of organisations that have an agreement with MLS, do not pay for these reports.
• If something went wrong with a payment, email us within 30 days and we will sort it out, including a refund where the report was not delivered.
• Organisations agree their prices with MLS directly.

Who owns what

MLS owns BTLS, the questionnaire, the report texts, the charts and the website. You may download and print your own reports and share them for your own use or inside your organisation. You may not copy, sell, republish or reuse the questionnaire or report texts for any other purpose without written permission from MLS.

Our responsibility

We work hard to keep BTLS correct, safe and available, but we cannot promise that it is always available or free of errors. BTLS and its results are given "as is". As far as the law allows, MLS is not responsible for losses that come from using BTLS or from decisions based on its results. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under South African consumer law that cannot be limited.

Our privacy notice explains what we keep, why, who sees it and your rights.

Ending your account

You can ask us to delete your account at any time on your account page. These terms then stop applying, except the parts about ownership and responsibility.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. When the change matters, we update the version date at the top of this page. South African law applies to these terms.
